International Organization for Standardization (ISO) - ISO developed the ISO 14000 series of standards, guidance documents and technical reports, including the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard.

Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies (CERES) - A non-profit, multi-stakeholder coalition working toward a goal of worldwide corporate responsibility.

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) - GRI is designing guidelines for companies wishing to issue sustainability reports.

	Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) - CEC is an international organization made up of the U.S., Mexico and Canada that addresses regional environmental concerns, helps to prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts and promotes the effective enforcement of environmental law.

The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (formerly known as RAB) is the U.S. accreditation body for management systems. ANAB accredits certification bodies (CBs) for ISO 9001 quality management systems (QMS) and ISO 14001 environmental management systems (EMS), as well as a number of industry-specific requirements

National Environmental Performance Track

Performance Track is a public/private partnership recognizing top environmental performance among participating U.S. facilities of all types, sizes, and complexity, public and private. Program partners are providing leadership in many areas, including preventing pollution at its source. Currently (March 2005), the program has about 300 members and welcomes all qualifying facilities.
