A newly formed network of Chinese students and scholars who are interested in the environment and public health has asked to be affiliated with the MSWG.  The scholars' first meeting was at the UW-Madison and involved Chinese doctorate and post-doctorate students who are studying at universities in nine US states. The name for the network is: Environment and Public Health Network for Chinese Students and Scholars.  The report of their first meeting can be found by clicking here.
Of great interest and importance for all:  The UN Environment Programme, working with others, has produced large-scale assessments of the planet's ecosystem, available here.
The UN Environment Program has released a guidance manual and training kit on setting up assistance centers on cleaner production and pollution prevention for industries, here.
13 July, 2006: The United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative Asset Management Working Group publishes "Show Me The Money: Linking Environmental, Social and Governance Issues to Company Value".  This report draws on the expertise of more than 22 financial services firms internationally, including sell side research houses, asset management firms and an investment consultancy. The factors linking environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues to company value have been extracted from more than 1,000 pages of financial analysis
UNEP DTIE has facilitated the preparation of a series of sector reports, whereby international, industry organisations and associations take stock of progress towards sustainable development and outline future challenges and actions to be taken. This is an industry-driven initiative, which has resulted in twenty-two sector reports, developed according to a common format and discussed in consultation with relevant stakeholders.  Information here.
